Tree Service in Queenstown, MD

Queenstown is where our workday starts. The Economy Tree Service yard and office sit at 100 Arrington Road, just off US 50 near the split with US 301, so jobs in and around town are only a few miles from our trucks. Queenstown was the first county seat, and its colonial courthouse still stands. Around it are older homes, lots on Queenstown Creek, farms toward the Wye River and highway businesses. We have been in business for more than 30 years, our work is led by a Maryland Licensed Tree Expert (LTE# 1929), and we answer calls 24/7.

Let us do the work. Our expert team will arrive on time at your Queenstown, Maryland, home or business and will quickly, safely, and effectively remove the specified tree(s).

After we’ve finished removing the trees/branches, etc., we will thoroughly clean the work area and remove all debris, leaving your property neat and tidy.

Our Yard Is Right Here in Queenstown

Our crews and trucks start every day in Queenstown, so a job here does not mean a long haul across the Shore. That helps with small jobs, like one limb over a roof or a single stump, and it matters most after a storm, when roads are blocked and the closest crew is the one you want.

Inside town limits, the Town of Queenstown requires a permit application for tree removal. The town lists no fee. The application needs a site plan showing the trees, their type and size, the reason they are coming out and any replacement plans. If the trees are in the Critical Area, replacement planting may be required.

Many Queenstown addresses are outside town limits, where Queen Anne’s County rules apply instead. The county requires a permit for tree removal within 1,000 feet of tidal water. Either way, we can help you put the site plan together, find out which office reviews it, and explain the replanting before any cutting starts.

Storm Cleanup From Just Down the Road

On August 4, 2020, Tropical Storm Isaias spun up an EF0 tornado along Stagwell Road in Queenstown, with winds near 70 mph. It flattened a strip of corn and damaged trees across the road before lifting short of the Wye River. Back in 2003, Hurricane Isabel’s flooding and wind left hundreds of homes in the county damaged or destroyed. When a tree falls on your Queenstown home, our yard is close by. Call 410-827-5198 any hour, 24/7.

Common tree problems in Queenstown:

Eroding creek and river banks. Trees along Queenstown Creek and the Wye River can lose soil from under their roots as the bank wears away. A tree leaning out over the water may be close to falling, and removal there usually needs a Critical Area permit.

Hedgerows on farm edges. Fields around Queenstown are lined with hedgerows of cedar, oak and sweetgum. Left alone, they spread into fields and lanes and drop limbs on equipment paths. We trim back or remove field-edge trees.

Hanging storm limbs. After a strong storm, cracked limbs can hang in the canopy for weeks before they fall. These hangers are a real hazard over driveways, parking areas and play spaces, and they should come down with proper rigging.

Brittle dead ash. Emerald ash borer has been in Queen Anne’s County since at least 2015. Ash trees killed by it dry out and turn brittle, which makes them riskier to climb and cut the longer they stand.

Right from our Queenstown yard, we offer tree removal, trimming and pruning, stump grinding, storm damage cleanup and Marsh Master phragmite control for creek banks and ponds. Need wood for the stove or fire pit? We sell seasoned firewood, and we are permitted to move and sell wood under Maryland rules. Get a free estimate from your neighbors in the tree business.
